ANJIANG XU

Anjiang Xu, co-founder of Studio Trip, a Shenzhen-ese who has studied, worked, and lived in the U.S., Berlin, and Copenhagen. Before Studio Trip, Anjiang had worked at Urbanus, Sauerbruch Hutton Architects, Bjarke Ingels Group, and Gray Organschi Architecture on projects including master planning, high-rise tower design, mass timber supply chain, and sustainable building technologies. She co-led and built a zero-energy housing project LONG-PLAN, which received the Championship of Solar Decathlon China and the WA Chinese Architectural Award. Her research papers were published in Buildings, Art & Design, and Architectural Journal, and presented at major venues including NESAH Annual Conference, Shanghai International Interior Design Week, and national mass media. 

Currently an adjunct instructor at Syracuse Architecture, Anjiang has taught as a teaching fellow at Yale Architecture and as a guest critic both at Yale and at Lehigh University. She holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and a Bachelor of Engineering from South China University of Technology in Landscape Architecture.

TIAN XU

Tian Xu, co-founder of Studio Trip, possesses a diverse architectural background shaped by her upbringing in Hangzhou and her education at the University of Bath and the Yale School of Architecture. Her professional experience spans global firms, including Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (UK), Herzog & de Meuron (Switzerland), and Apicella + Bunton Atchitects (US).

Having studied under Francis Kéré and Momoyo Kaijima, Tian’s practice centers on the cultural and social dimensions of material continuity. Her work explores spaces that embrace seasonality and momentum, prioritizing designs that weather and retrofit gracefully over time.

Tian’s deisgn studio project developed under Kere, ‘Ganvie Light Tower - The Beacon,’ (Teammate: Sangji Han) earned first prize for innovative human waste management in the international “Waste Not” competition, as well as an Honourable Mention in the High-tech Challenge 2024 at the London Design Summit.

IRIS YOU

Iris You is an architectural and landscape designer. She has a background in fabrication as the studio director of the artist Sarah Oppenheimer, and stage and exhibition design in Tokyo, her first dip of the toe into spatial design. She has interned at the offices of Kengo Kuma and Junya Ishigami. She studied political science once upon a time.
